Quarter glass is the small pane behind the rear doors (or the little vent window near the mirror on some models). They break the same ways side windows do — break-ins especially, since thieves know they’re cheap to smash — but many shops treat them as a nuisance job.

The fixed pane behind the rear door on sedans and SUVs, the small triangular vent window near the side mirror on some models, and the fixed panes in cargo van and wagon bodies. If it’s a car window and it isn’t the windshield, a door window, or the back glass — it’s quarter glass.
Why do thieves target quarter windows?
They’re small, out of the driver’s sightline, and open the door lock area. It’s the most common break-in glass we replace after front door windows.
Is quarter glass expensive to replace?
The pane itself is usually one of the cheaper pieces of glass on the car; the job is mostly in the careful removal and rebonding. Call with your model and we’ll quote it straight.
